Incandescence
INCANDES'CENCE, noun [Latin incandescens, incandesco; in and candesco; candeo, caneo, to be white, to shine; canus, white.]
A white heat; or the glowing whiteness of a body caused by intense heat. We say, a metal is heated to incandescence
