INTERSECT', verb transitive [Latin interseco; inter, between, and seco, to cut.]

To cut or cross mutually; to divide into parts. Thus two lines or two planes may intersect each other. The ecliptic intersects the equator.

INTERSECT', verb intransitive To meet and cross each other; as, the point where two lines intersect [This is elliptical.]
