FA'VORABLE, adjective [Latin favorabilis.]

1. Kind; propitious; friendly; affectionate.

Lend favorable ear to our request.

Lord, thou hast been favorable to thy land. Psalms 85:1.

2. Palliative; tender; averse to censure.
