LACON'ICAL, adjective [Latin laconicus, from Laconia or Lacomes, the Spartans.]

1. Short; brief; pithy; sententious; expressing much in few words, after the manner of the Spartans; as a laconic phrase.

2. Pertaining to Sparta or Lacedemonia.
