SUPERSCRIP'TION, noun The act of superscribing.

1. That which is written or engraved on the outside, or above something else.

The superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Mark 15:26. Luke 23:38.

2. An impression of letters on coins. Matthew 22:20.
